Hospice Volunteers

Hospice Volunteers make valuable contributions to all service areas and are truly the heart of Careline Hospice. Our Volunteer Program provides an integrated and comprehensive system of volunteer programs that enhance and augment the services of hospice staff.

Responsive Volunteering

These services are responsive to the needs of our patients, families and staff and convey a spirit of respect, concern and personal caring to all people within the hospice environment; (2) offers positive ways for volunteers to give of themselves and provides opportunities for learning and personal growth; (3) assists in the creation and promotion of community interest and understanding of hospice philosophy by involving the community in volunteer service opportunities.

Volunteer Services in areas of hospice include:

• Clerical Support – bulk mail preparation, creating admission packets and much more
• Companion Care – providing companionship to patients and respite to their family in the home.
• Bereavement Services – providing emotional support to family members or friends for 13 months following a patient’s death.
• Spiritual Care – providing spiritual and emotional support to patients and families.
